Working here has been an amazing privilege for me. My whole life, I have been surrounding myself with animals as much as possible. I moved to the Niagara area when I was eight years old. It took years or begging but my parents finally caved into me asking for a dog. We welcomed our first furry friend into our home, Maddy, a coton de tulear. Two years later we got another one just as cute, Sophie, the same breed.
Once I reached high school, I explored my interest in other animals and got into the reptile hobby. I have a variety of species ranging between turtles, geckos, and lizards. I love every single one of the animals in my home.
I graduated high school and decided to take the year off to figure out exactly what I wanted to do. I got an opportunity to have a job here at UCAH and I fell in love with the community that surrounded this place. I applied to a couple of veterinary assistant programs for college and I cannot wait to see how animals fit into my life in the future.
